I started my adventure into fused glass in 2013. I had previously created and successfully exhibited water colors, traditional stained-glass panels and powdered enamels on copper. What I discovered was that I could create art incorporating all my past interests in the media of fused glass. I have learned and continue to learn the fused glass process through in-person studio classes and online classes from nationally established glass artists, as well personal experimentation. I continually try to learn techniques that I may incorporate into my art pieces. The images I create vary greatly. I see something interesting and try to capture that idea in glass. I do commissions for people that have a photograph of that favorite vacation spot, of their favorite house, grandchild's activity or special event that they want to memorialize in a piece of glass art. I create pieces for gallery exhibits that have defined prospectus submittal outlines. These circumstances lead to a wide variety of images in glass. All the glass pieces I create follow the same defined cohesive process of learned techniques and some experimentation for an individual piece of fused glass artwork. While some pieces may look similar, each piece is individually created.
