    Potential Residency Project

My residencies are aimed at educating and building self-worth with students being actively engaged in designing and building their own creations through open discussions, sketching and hand-on learning.

I offer two different residencies with different projects in each depending on the student ages. Possible residencies include:

    Let’s Make Furniture
In this residency students explore and talk about how things are made. Each student will create their own piece of furniture such as a bench, chair or table, from wooden slats and dowel rods. They will learn fun facts about trees and the role of trees in our environment and finish their piece with color and markings to make it truly a reflection of themselves and something they are proud of.

    Woodturning
Students will learn the fundamentals of woodturning through creating mallets with basic beads and coves techniques. With their individual creative designs and combinations of these basic shapes, students will design and create their own spindles. Students will then learn about mortise and tenon joinery in building their very own spindle-leg stool.
