Mick Jeffries has been spreading the gospel of the world's happiest instrument throughout Kentucky for the past decade, by way of his organization KYuke, workshops, classes, and KYukefest, the Commonwealth's first and only ukulele festival, held in Lexington in September! Whatever the occasion, Mick cooks up some good time strumming for all skill levels, and best of all: he packs a lot of loaner ukes! So as they like to say at KYuke: "Strum, don't fret!"
When he works in schools, Mick tailors a week-long program that uses popular and regional songs to teach basic music theory, including the chords, strumming and singing needed to raise a downright ruckus! The kids LOVE it!
