Bio
I have made millinery my main focus in life and have built hats for 22 years for both professional theater companies and fashion.
My passion for hats started in college where I studied theater and specialized in costume design. I honed my craft through internships with professional theaters. During one internship, I learned millinery at the Santa Fe Opera, where I worked under Sharon King, one of the milliners for the film "Titanic.”
Locally, I have worked for the Louisville Ballet and the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Nationally, I had the opportunity to work with Tony Award Winner Catherine Zuber, building hats for the Metropolitan Opera's production of “The Barber of Seville.” Just recently, I built headpieces for Glimmerglass Opera's production of “Candide.”
Whether it's for the stage or for your own life’s drama, my hats range from classical to exuberant. You can pick out a hat that's right for you by visiting my website at www.sarahshats.com
