Bio
Mark Rego revels in the challenge of capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Marrying the art and science of photography, he creates images that evoke emotion through a memory, a story, a question. Rego accomplishes this across diverse themes.
His approach to light and color create scenic and nature images likened to paintings. imagery focusing on elements found in an America all but disregarded, bringing the past to life—portraits of forgotten treasures. Rego’s indoor and specialty collections generate images that celebrate the story.
Born in isolated moments of a hectic business and family life, Rego’s work evolved from hobbyist. He began exhibiting in fine art shows and nature competitions in Chicago. After coming to Louisville, his interest intensified. His wife Claudette developed Captured in Color, producing commissioned work, fine art prints and museum quality, frameable gallery cards. Rego continues to expand his image library.
