My love of Nantucket basket purses was the inspiration for my work. Their refined shape and intricate details set them apart from other baskets. My basket purses use a slotted base like a Nantucket, but are not woven on a mold so I am free to manipulate their shapes. Using cane for the weavers creates a basket that can take the abuse of daily use while remaining smooth and aging beautifully.
