Bio
For 27 years, Marsha Nelson has employed traditional blacksmithing tools and techniques to create metalwork with contemporary applications, from cabinet hinges and door latches to pot racks, trellises and sign brackets.
Her passion for replicating period ironwork carries over into the creation of new designs for forged custom pieces. These unique works are the result of collaboration, combining the client's needs and desires with Marsha's experience in forging steel, iron, brass and copper.
Marsha's pieces are designed for daily use, exemplifying the philosophy of the functional object as artistic expression - a utilitarian item transcending its role in daily life.
