Fenced In has a sincere love and passion for that old time traditional sound, blending soulful harmony vocals with top-notch instrumentation and played in the style of the bluegrass forefathers.
Rick Oldfield grew up listening to and fell in love with the tight harmonies and soulful duets of the Stanley Brothers and other bluegrass greats. He joined Ralph Stanley II singing tenor and has also performed with Don Rigsby, Kenneth Davis, Danny Davis and countless others. He then formed his own group and continues travelling the country singing traditional bluegrass.
Curnie Lee Wilson grew up in a home filled with traditional bluegrass gospel. He traveled with his dad and uncle, the Wilson Brothers, all around the Midwest, and they, along with the Stanley Brothers, remain his greatest influences. He has performed on RFD-TV’s the Cumberland Highlanders Show, and sung lead and harmonies and played lead and rhythm guitar for several years with Joe Isaacs, founding father of the gospel super group, The Isaacs.
Steve Sparkman plays banjo in the group. For 17 years, he performed with the legendary Dr. Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, traveling internationally and playing legendary venues like the Grand Ole Opry.
Dustin Parker plays bass and sings baritone for the group. He plays several instruments, and has performed in many venues with some of the best talent Kentucky has to offer including the legendary Joe Isaacs.
Rick and Curnie have performed in a variety of venues including the University of Georgia, the Walhalla Civic Auditorium, the McKelvey Center, Kentucky on Stage, the Performing Arts Exchange, Richmond Arts Council, Renfro Valley’s Barn Stage and countless bluegrass festivals around the nation. They look forward to performing for you, too.
