Bio
Studio Avana is the collaborative work of Hannah and Ava Zeno in Frankfort, Kentucky. Together they create contemporary, handcrafted jewelry that brings together hand-stitched fiber elements and original metalwork. Their pieces are designed and made in small collections.
Hannah and Ava work collaboratively on each series, blending their design backgrounds and shared appreciation for texture, color, and form. Their stitched components draw on the geometry and simplicity found in modern and mid-century textiles, expressed through rich, earthy, contrasting palettes as well as subtle neutrals. Alongside their fiber work, they design and create sculptural all-metal pieces—including earrings, bracelets, necklaces, bolos, rings, and hairpins. Their metalwork features clean, contemporary forms with a clear nod to the natural world, bringing both metal and fiber designs together within Studio Avana's cohesive aesthetic.
Every component, whether fiber or metal, is fully handcrafted in their Kentucky studio. Settings and metal designs are cut, shaped, soldered, and finished by hand, giving each piece clean, modern lines while still holding the texture and character of handwork. Studio Avana works primarily in raw brass, an enduring and sustainable material chosen for its beauty and accessibility. They also work with copper and sterling silver, and their heirloom pieces feature the addition of pearl accents.
Studio Avana draws from Kentucky's heritage of handmade, functional craft, where beauty and purpose are always intertwined. Their jewelry carries that spirit forward as wearable art that reflects individual style—pieces made to be worn and remembered.
