Steeped in the influence of Colonial candlewick embroidery and Victorian embroidery, my designs have evolved, combining the aged look of tradition with contemporary visions. My love of flowers and color has been a major influence. The freshness of new blooms is my inspiration. I capture them on my fabric canvas with descriptive back and running stitches for outlining, pillowy satin stitches for splashes of color, and lots of French knots—the hallmark of candlewick embroidery and my favorite stitch to do. Showcasing design and color are my personal trademarks.
