    Bio

    Erika Strecker is from a family of professional artists and has worked as a full-time sculptor and metalsmith since 1994. Erika received her Master of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (blacksmithing and sculpture), and was in the CORE Fellowship Program at Penland School in N.C. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Kenyon College in 1990.

    Erika is adept in a wide range of techniques from traditional blacksmithing techniques to sculptural fabrication.  Incorporating a wide range of materials, she often works with other artist like glassblowers and woodworkers to make components for her designs.

    A 2007 recipient of the Al Smith Fellowship Award, Erika has been included in numerous publications on sculpture and metalworking and has been featured on segments produced for public television.

    From furniture, lighting, firescreens, to sculpture, Erika relishes the diversity of moving from one design expression to another.  She designs and builds one-of-a-kind pieces for the home, garden or business location.

    Erika has been commissioned by:  individuals, governmental agencies, educational institutions, hospitals, contractors, municipalities, corporations, landscape architects, architects, engineers and developers.
