Jeri Katherine Howell is an Americana singer-songwriter and rhythm guitarist from Frankfort, Kentucky. She commands performances with her sweet and soulful voice, thought-provoking lyrics, quality musicianship and joyful presence. Jeri Katherine is also a skilled teaching artist. She teaches students of all ages in diverse settings in the U.S. and abroad, with emphasis on music education (songwriting), place-based environmental education, service learning, cultural exchange, and creative youth development. She is an adjudicated member of the Kentucky Arts Council, Berea College Partners for Education, and Yes Arts Teaching Artist Rosters. She is certified in environmental education and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and is bilingual in English and Spanish. The Kentucky Foundation for Women recognized Jeri Katherine’s work to foster social change through her music with the 2018 Firestarter Award and 2019 Art Meets Activism grant. In 2017, she was a U.S. Department of State Fulbright grantee to Costa Rica, where she used music and dance to foster cultural exchange. She holds two BAs in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Centre College (2015) and is pursuing an MS in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky (2022).
