A performance from guitarist Joe Hudson will take listeners back to a time when music was real and pure. Visiting songs made famous by Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and others, Joe keeps true to his Muhlenberg County, Ky., roots by exhibiting the same thumbpicking rhythm that still echoes through the hills of his Greenville home today. Joe was mentored by another familiar name in the thumbpicking world, Steve Rector. Quick to acknolwledge his cultural heritage, Joe strives to leave concert-goers with nothing less than a smile and the understanding that they have experienced music from a rich, deeply rooted tradition that has affected musical genres worldwide.
In addition to performing, Joe serves as the executive director of The National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame organization.
