    Bio

Elegance is a word that guides my work. For me, it means more than just beauty; it's about grace, strength, and a sense of timelessness that I strive to reflect in each piece. With over 25 years of sketching and drawing, I've developed a deep appreciation for detail. I taught myself how to paint eight years ago, bringing new life and texture to my art. My goal is to create work that resonates, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and connect with the deeper story behind the textures and layers.

My inspiration comes from the rich elements of fashion, hair, and identity. I'm fascinated by how these elements evolve over time while holding onto something timeless. The textures, bold patterns, and details of fabric and natural forms tell stories of resilience and self-expression. I aim to capture this vibrant essence, celebrating the elegance and individuality in these elements through mixed media. Every piece becomes a visual celebration, connecting with people on both personal and universal levels.

What makes my work unique is how I blend different materials—fabric, lace, resin, wire mesh, and sometimes metal shavings—into textured portraits. My background in welding fabrication has given me a strong understanding of metal, which has inspired me to explore how I can bring a metal or bronze-like effect into my paintings. By using hot glue and acrylic paint, I create the illusion of metalwork on canvas, adding a modern yet historical touch. I also incorporate stained glass effects, bringing a contemporary feel to traditional themes. Elements like vintage lace and metal details add layers of meaning and help bridge the past and present. I aim for my art to reflect both softness and strength, with a mix of the contemporary and the vintage, celebrating the complexity of identity.

Creating art is deeply personal for me. It's about honoring both individual and shared experiences, using materials that highlight the rich textures of life. I want to inspire people to see the beauty in our shared histories and to recognize the elegance within themselves. Through my work, I hope to create moments of reflection, inviting viewers to see a piece of themselves in each painting.

Ultimately, I want my art to stand as a testament to the resilience and grace woven into life's fabric. Each piece is a reminder that beauty exists in complexity and that strength comes from embracing our layers. My hope is for viewers to feel that connection and to carry a sense of that beauty and resilience with them long after they leave.
