Pamela Mattei is a Fabric Artist from Louisville. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art with a concentration in fibers from Xavier University. Her work focuses on luscious hand dyed silk in an array of horse themed designs. In addition to sewing, quilting, and dyeing fabric, Pamela loves to incorporate photography and mixed media into her art. Her work has been exhibited locally and regionally. When she is not driving the pedal of a sewing machine or turning her skin different colors while dyeing her own fabric, Pamela enjoys spending her time working backstage in the theatre as a stage manager. She also uses her artistic talents as a dresser on the wardrobe crew of a variety of Broadway Series touring productions, and has worked as a seamstress for “The Phantom of the Opera” and as a costume painter for Disney’s “The Lion King”.
