For nearly twenty years, the Reynolds Family Band has been singing and playing bluegrass and gospel music at festivals, concert halls, churches and other venues throughout Kentucky and surrounding states.
Though heavily influenced by the traditional bluegrass styles of Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs, this unique band also interweaves a bit of Grand Ole Opry style country and a touch of the blues into their music. Add their two female band members in a genre dominated by male performers and you’ve got one original family band. Their repertoire includes traditional bluegrass tunes, gospel hymns and original compositions.
The band includes Wayne Reynolds, mandolin, lead vocals; Lillian Reynolds (mother), vocals; Sue Poteet (sister), vocals, upright bass; Gordon Poteet (brother-in-law), vocals, guitar; and Joe Larson, vocals, banjo and harmonica. They have recorded four projects, received considerable radio and TV airplay over the years, and have had the privilege of performing with most of the legends of bluegrass music.
