Potential Residency Project

As a playwright, I am inspired by the limitations of the ten-minute play. My plays range from meditative two-handers to wildly theatrical adventures. My specific interests in playwriting are social and political commentary and centering women's stories on stage.

I can offer in-classroom, virtual or hybrid instruction based on the needs of theclassroom and location of the school. These residencies are customizable based on the teacher and student's interests and can include one-on-one dramaturgical sessions with playwrights, as needed. My residencies can be adapted to classrooms in middle andhigh schools.

Available residencies include:

Advanced Topics in Playwriting (1-3 day residency)

Let's deep dive into a specific topic in playwriting. Options include:

● Crafting Authentic Characters

● Monologue v. Dialogue

● The Art of the Stage Direction

Special attention will be paid to methods of revision and techniques playwrights can use to strengthen their work.

Script Analysis (5-10 day residency)

Plays can be rich texts for English and Social Studies classrooms. In this residency, we will explore a play of your choice using theatrical tools as we approach the script from the perspective of an actor, designer and director. Teachers will gain the skills to continue this process in their classrooms with open-ended resources that can be applied to future classrooms.

10-minute Play Festival (10 day residency)

In this residency, I will guide a school through the production of a 10-minute play festival. This residency will begin with classroom instruction on writing a 10-minute play. Coaching will be provided to teachers and staff on how to select a dynamic slate of scripts and produce a festival of student-written work.
