Bio
Anna Kline and John Looney are the heart of Swift Silver. For over 10 years now, they have toured across the Southeast spreading the gospel of Southern sound.
Their collaboration spans the great expanse of the American songbook influenced drawn from the redemptive strains of gospel, the drawling tremolo of rhythm and blues, and the raw twang of the mountain landscape. Known for their seamless harmonies and stirring arrangements, they lend old songs new life while their original songs are cut from the same cloth.
They have performed at MerleFest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots, Suwannee Springfest & Suwannee’s Magnolia Fest and Countryfest in Belgium. They have appeared on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and the duo’s music was featured on Season 5 of the SEC Network series True South, hosted by John T. Edge.
Anna is a Kentucky Arts Council Community Scholar and Business Development Director for the International Bluegrass Music Association. John is a sought-after side man and a respected authority on stringed instruments. They are regular musical collaborators with many Kentucky and regional musicians, songwriting and sitting in on performances and recording projects.
Swift Silver’s performances are an authentic Kentucky music experience. They are ideal for festivals and listening rooms, weddings, or private events. They complement programming line-ups for music camps and workshops such as songwriting, vocal harmonies, guitar, and mandolin techniques.
Swift Silver can perform as a duo or a full bluegrass band. They can also put together a six-piece square dance band if the occasion calls for it.
