Bio
I’ve been an artist all my life, but ended up in stone only recently, and quite by accident. Every idea is an experiment, every new piece an adventure. I tend to push the edge, making shapes unexpected for stone: dishes, leaves, feathers.
Working with repurposed stone from countertop scraps, I see my handiwork as a “beauty from the broken” redemptive metaphor. Beauty and value is restored to the broken and rejected. I find inspiration in the natural world around my home and in the beauty of the stone I work. The process of hand carving each piece yields new discoveries, creating unique art for tasteful home or business settings.
I find great delight in each new piece as I watch it unfold from the rigid stone and come to life.
