Bio
Rebecca Miller Campbell is a self-taught artist who creates unique mixed media folk art in her home studio in West Liberty, Ky., surrounded by the things that inspire her most — antiques, nature, fabric, vintage remnants and memories.
Through years of experimentation and creative play, Rebecca found a love in combining some of her favorite hobbies — sewing, pattern making and painting. Her sculptures are the result of that creative play. The dolls and folk art ornaments she makes are most often constructed of cloth, paint and paper clay. She incorporates recycled materials, antiques and found objects in her work. She likes to think of her pieces as contemporary folk art infused with sweetness, whimsy, humor, nostalgia and just a dollop of mischief.
Rebecca’s work evokes a sense of the past while maintaining a contemporary feel. Each piece features a beautiful, aged patina reminiscent of collectibles from a bygone era. Her pieces are carefully constructed, intricately painted, finely detailed and are one of a kind in nature. Rebecca takes special pride in the quality and appearance of her artwork and strives to simply make the best art she can make. Her work resides in personal collections across the country and abroad.
