Carving is my passion. I focus primarily on waterfowl, carving decorative decoys that are realistic in size, colors, markings and posture. Ideally, the carving will capture the essence of the bird. The decoys float in water in the same way as a real bird would rest on the water, a requirement for competition in the International Wildfowl Carving Association.
I also carve duck calls and realistic carvings of other birds. The wood for my carvings is eastern red cedar and is harvested from my farm in Washington County.
All other hobbies have gone by the wayside since discovering carving and waterfowl hunting — they are indeed my passions.
