With my start as mechanical engineer, I hope to transform myself into a naturalistic body care products visionary. My journey with this is a work in progress as there is much to learn in these arts. I feel that what I am creating is a blend of art and craft as well as science and even some philosophy. Like any artist, I take this work seriously and consider it a fundamental extension of who I am as a person.
The craftsmanship that goes into making soaps and other body care products is a blend of several arts. Like a chef, my art requires me to have a solid working knowledge of the chemistry of the ingredients I use as well as an understanding of how these will resonate with the people who use them.
From my Sassa Bella workshop I create my work with the highest quality, earth-inspired, 100 percent natural ingredients, turning them into handmade soap and body care products for people, equines and canines. I make products that promote well-being, encourage a sense of inner harmony and enhance health and wellness.
Every facet that goes into the creation of my products supports my philosophy that our health is integrally linked to the world around us. My focus is on making choices that are good for us and the earth. My raw materials come from suppliers that utilize sustainable, renewable and non-GMO farming practices. How I run my business is based on waste elimination, sustainability, and ethical corporate citizenship.
My products are always handcrafted from the highest quality, freshest ingredients, in small batches. I seek out, source and use green ingredients that are the closest to home — Harrodsburg, Ky. — to reduce environmental impact. My things are lovingly made without the use of alcohol, petroleum products, preservatives, parabens, silicones, artificial fragrances, formaldehyde, or GMO’s. I never test on animals — ever.
I am committed to setting a balanced example as a manufacturer, business and individual. I am dedicated to providing information and choices about the importance of living sustainably and set a clear example of how to do that as a business. I will never sacrifice the integrity of the ingredients I source nor any other aspect of my business for profit or expansion.
This work fulfills me in deeply fundamental ways and feels like exactly what I was put here on earth to do!
