Bio
"Don't make something unless it is both necessary and useful, but if it is both necessary and useful, don't hesitate to make it beautiful." I follow this Shaker philosophy. The pieces that I make are both simple and beautiful to look at, and they are made to be used and to last. My intention with each piece I make, whether it be Shaker boxes, reproduction lanterns or furniture, is that it never needs to be replaced.
I have been building furniture since 1986, and mostly Shaker since 1997. I use a lot of hand tools and cut all of my dovetails by hand, a look that you cannot duplicate. My hand-rubbed natural oil finishes bring out the natural beauty of the cherry, walnut and maple woods that I use in my work.
All of my pieces are meant to be enjoyed and endure the test of time.
