Bio
I gained my drawing and painting background while studying studio art at Murray State University. Inspired by the boldness of folk and outsider art as well as the colorful imagery of late Kentucky artist Ellis Wilson and American artist Jonathan Green, I seek to examine the rhythms of family, home and rural life.
Using cut pieces of paper, I juxtapose complex patterns and simple shapes to create images. The results are sophisticated, pattern-oriented compositions characterized by flattened perspectives and bright colors.
