Denise Yates
I became interested in photography at the age of 15, and I now have over 17 years of professional photography experience.
My vision is to preserve history through my photography. I enjoy riding the back roads of Kentucky and surrounding states seeking historical structures and unique scenery that goes unnoticed by everyday travelers. I take pleasure in the fact that my photography captures the current conditions of the scenery and/or historical structure. I strive to capture their beauty and essence; and seek to tell its unique story of days gone by through photographic expression.
I have tempered my skills through a "hands on" approach to the world of photography. I typically use manual and automatic Minolta cameras. I use 35 mm color and B/W films. My photographs are not digitally altered or enhance in any way. I use a tripod and a circular polarizer filter for most of my work.
