Caroline J. Fletcher
When I first began to paint, it was only to soothe the soul and fill that empty void in the evenings when I got off from work. At first, it was a struggle because I never knew what to paint. That question comes much easier now since I travel and participate in shows with my agent, Prentis Turange. I listened to you, the public, to see what you liked. Although I sell many of my African American paintings, my greatest response comes from my series, 'The Color of Music'. To me, my mosaic people are similar to our society. They are integrated patterns of color working together to create harmony. That is what we must all concentrate on more: Diverse cultures working together to make this a better place to live.
