Lee Sexton
Lee Sexton is recognized as a master musician and one of the region’s finest banjo performers. In 1999, he received the Kentucky Governor's Awards in the Arts Artist Award from the Kentucky Arts Council. With a featured role in the film Coal Miner’s Daughter and a recent appearance at the Smithsonian’s Folklife Festival, Lee has established himself as one of the foremost tradition bearers of Kentucky’s mountain music heritage.
Recently, Lee has toured extensively, participating in festivals and workshops.
