Mary Hamilton

Mary HamiltonFor over twenty years Kentucky native Mary Hamilton has sparked the imaginations of story listeners from Florida to Alaska, including three featured performances at the National Storytelling Festival—1987, 1992, 1999. With her straightforward “just talking” style, Mary creates performances for varied audiences and venues.

For adults, Mary's stories include Children of Richard, Rhoda, and God. In 1969 two Kentucky teens, one Catholic, the other Baptist, date. Mary relates the inevitable cultural clash with heart and humor.  Sailing the Flying Ship is a story-filled, inspiring conference opener.

For children under eight, she rallies her audience to chant along, sing along, and join in the telling of All Together Now.

For all ages, Mary celebrates Kentucky’s narrative traditions with Kentucky Wonders,  folktales, tall tales,  and true stories selected for your audience—adults, children, or families.
