Louisville Bach Society
The Louisville Bach Society, now in its 44th season, continues to fulfill its mission in bringing the finest in classical choral performance to audiences both in its Louisville home as well as throughout the state. Like most choral societies in the world, it is a semi-professional organization, whose singers are devoted to sharing repertory from Handel, Bach and Brahms to Ralph Vaughn Williams and Zoltan Kodaly. In addition to a four-concert season and school-time education programs in Louisville, the Bach Society performs Handel's Messiah on an annual basis and tours with the Louisville Bach Society Orchestra and its full chorus of 60+ singers. The Society’s resident musicologist, Dr. John Hale, provides both program notes and informal pre-concert lectures that make the music and its composers come to life even before the thrill of the performance itself. Make the Louisville Bach Society, and the power of choral music, a part of your performance calendar!
