Kentucky Symphony Orchestra
The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra was founded by Music Director James Cassidy in 1992 with a mission to make symphonic music attractive, accessible and affordable to the residents of the Northern KY and surrounding tri-state communities. Today, the KSO looks to expand its reach, taking its friendly and unique thematic programs across the Commonwealth.
Over the years, through innovative programming, the KSO has collaborated with many non-profits, universities, and arts and entertainment entities, as well as the Kentucky National Guard, NBC's Saturday Night Live, Hasbro Toys, the Cincinnati Zoo, and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center to make its concert presentations people-friendly, relevant and memorable. KSO subsidiary groups, formed over the years (Boogie Band, Newport Ragtime Band, Flood Wall Jazz Quintet) have allowed the orchestra artistic, logistic and financial flexibility, while providing an opportunity to authentically explore America’s musical heritage.
