Andrew Leonard

Andrew LeonardAndrew Leonard’s fascination with what can be played as a solo guitarist brings music from all over the world to his audiences.  His performances include Spanish guitar pieces, world music, folk inspired music from the United States, popular arrangements, and compositions from the guitar’s classical tradition.  His compelling guitar playing, informal presence on stage and spoken program notes allow audiences to escape from daily life and connect with the intimate world of Andrew’s solo guitar playing.

Andrew has performed throughout the country and welcomed the new Millennium with a performance in Geneva, Switzerland.  He has been called "a guitar phenomenon" by the Portland Phoenix of Maine and "critic’s pick" by Lexington, Kentucky’s Ace Weekly. His recordings have received airplay on National Public Radio affiliates throughout the country. Andrew runs the guitar program at the University of Kentucky’s School of Music.

Andrew can create a program to suit a presenter’s needs. Two of his most popular programs are: Hispanic Music for Guitar and A World of Guitar Music.
