Mountain Echoes
Mountain Echoes is a four-person old-time band consisting of one couple and two friends, Jim and Elizabeth Eaton, Ron Devore and Tricia Stahlman. Together they sing and play old-time traditional music, gospel songs and Appalachian music interspersed with history and stories. Music is played on Kentucky’s own state instrument, the mountain dulcimer, also autoharp, banjo, harmonica, pennywhistle, spoons, and banjo-mere. The four offer thirty years combined experience.
They have performed extensively throughout the area for conventions, festivals, churches, parties and special events. Mountain Echoes has a CD titled Shelvin’ Rock. The old-time music that Mountain Echoes performs will transport you back in time, to a place on the front porch of a log cabin with the family gathered around, back to a time when the days seemed to move slower and families were closer. This is the music of Mountain Echoes.
