Cabin Creek Band
Formerly Homer Ledford and the Cabin Creek Band, this four piece traditional Bluegrass Band has been together twenty years. They have performed concerts abroad including participating three different years in Ireland's International Bluegrass festivals in which they took top honors. They performed a show for Woodsongs Old Time Radio Show in Lexington, Kentucky and played on Michael Feldman's NPR show Whad 'Ya Know.
They played at the grand opening of Bill Monroe's Old Homeplace and were the first ever bluegrass band to perform for the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Pageant.
All of the members grew up surrounded by the style of music that they now play. Though much of their music was written and performed by others, they pride themselves on playing several original pieces.
The group brings their unique style to traditional bluegrass. Instruments played are bass, fiddle, guitar and banjo. By playing and singing well and having fun with their music, the band has had wonderful success with their audiences.
Cabin Creek Band performed a weekly radio show for WSKV, Stanton, Kentucky, for almost 10 years. They enjoy playing for schools, state parks and festivals, weddings and reunions. They have two CD's available and will soon have a CD of two of their radio shows.
