Ashley Lecille Suttlar

Ashley SuttlarPrasied for her “bold, vivid and seamless” choreography, Ashley Lecille Suttlar has been called “a force to behold” by the Philadelphia Inquirer and “provocative and fascinating” by the Cincinnati Citybeat Magazine.  She is the recipient of numerous awards such as the Black History in the Making Emerging Dance Leader Award, Brian Whitefield Grant from Virginia Commonwealth University, and the Future Faculty Fellowship and Choreographic Achievement Award from Temple University.  Ashley Lecille Suttlar’s choreography has been presented at Cincinnati and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals, American College Dance Festivals, Black College Dance Exchange, International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference and various universities, to list a few.  Suttlar has danced professionally with prominent choreographers like Charles O. Anderson, Tania Isaac, Melanie Stewart, Paul Turner and Kariamu Welsh.  Her artistic services include but are not limited to choreography, dance education, rehearsal and performance.  Whether presenting repertory for ensemble or individual exhibition, Suttlar’s works are unique cultivations of artistic expression that convey passionate explorations of human culture through the art of movement.
