Teri McLaren-Gimmel

Teri McLaren Gimmel works in high fire porcelain and stoneware, making traditional, functional ware with a Japanese influence.  Teri favors the quiet, everyday vessels that become the favorites of their users as familiar as old friends.  Patterns often include flower forms, impressed leaves, and brushwork of vegetation in keeping with the organic theme of most Japanese pottery.  Glazes are mixed by hand and colors vary from muted tones to rainbow bright shades, depending on the personality of the pot.  Lately, Teri has expanded her choice of forms to include more sculptural vessels and she is constantly working to surprise and delight her customers.
